ESU President, Foundation host ‘A Toast to Women in the Poconos’
November 8, 2012, East Stroudsburg, PA – Influential women of the Pocono region were welcomed to the home of Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D., president of East Stroudsburg University, on Thursday, November 8, 2012, for ‘A Toast to Women in the Poconos’ social networking event celebrating the achievements of women community leaders.



Homefront Duty: Drew Nesbitt ’07 resets life to care for his son and niece while wife serves with Pennsylvania National Guard

  Drew Nesbitt ’07 and Amanda Bradbury Nesbitt ’08 give thanks from afar this Thanksgiving as Amanda serves in the Pennsylvania National Guard and Drew serves on the homefront, caring for his son and niece.



2013 Faculty & Staff Campaign wraps up surpassing participation goal
The East Stroudsburg University Foundation closed out its annual Faculty & Staff Campaign this week, surpassing its participation goal by more than three percent.

  Maryellen Grace ’77, a school nurse at Ledyard Middle School in Gales Ferry, Conn., was recently featured in her local newspaper, the Norwich Bulletin, about how the role of school nurse has changed over the years. 



Lori Pio Jacques ’96 M’00 selected to NCAA Division II 40th Anniversary Tribute Team

Former East Stroudsburg University women’s basketball standout Lori Pio Jacques ’96 M’00 has been named to the 40th Anniversary Tribute Team as part of the NCAA’s celebration of Division II athletics throughout 2013.

Pottsville renames pool as tribute to alumnus

  Edward “Ned” Hampford ’74 was honored in February when the Pottsville D.H.H. Lengel Middle School’s pool was renamed in his honor. Hampford was the Pottsville boys swimming coach for more than 35 years.
