ESU Foundation establishes $50,000 STEM annual scholarship with support from Sanofi

Thanks to the generosity of long-time donor, Sanofi, East Stroudsburg University students majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM curriculum) will be eligible for the Sanofi STEM Annual Scholarship beginning the 2022/2023 academic year.
“Sanofi’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy centers around equity in STEM education, access to healthcare and addressing critical needs within our local communities,” said Phillip St. James, Sanofi U.S. CSR & Community Relations lead. “Sanofi has always valued the power of education, as does East Stroudsburg University, and we share in our commitment to service and sustainability of our neighborhoods, our communities, and our region. We are proud to partner with the University, and together we will continue to build unity today and for generations to come.”
Since 1990, Sanofi has supported the East Stroudsburg University Foundation and its students.
“Sanofi’s support of the ESU Foundation over the past 32 years has impacted the lives of countless students,” said Rich Santoro, ESU Foundation executive director. “We are grateful for this partnership.”
Sanofi’s scholarship support has made an impact on Kiara Joseph, Class of 2024. She is the recipient of this past academic year’s Sanofi Community Annual Scholarship, which supports students majoring in biological science or chemistry. “This scholarship is very important to me and my family because I do live with a single mom of three kids and this scholarship helps a lot with our financial struggles,” Joseph said. “I’m blessed to receive a scholarship that’s going help me pursue my dreams.”
