2017-18 Annual Report recognizes donors, shows increase in awarded scholarships, provides updates on special campaigns
The East Stroudsburg University Foundation’s 2017-2018 Annual Report and Honor Roll of Donors, “Breaking Ground,” has been released, reflecting a successful year as the Foundation continues to build upon its commitment to provide the best educational experience to ESU students at a reasonable cost.
The ESU Foundation fosters lifelong relationships with alumni and friends of East Stroudsburg University, securing philanthropic support to advance the University’s mission and to enhance every student’s University experience. “Breaking Ground” is a comprehensive record of donors and how their gifts have opened doors for students, projects, and programs at ESU.
The report also includes messages from ESU President Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D., ESU Foundation Board Chairman Robert Willever ’75, and ESU Foundation Executive Director Rich Santoro.
“As stewards of your gifts, we are called upon to share the new initiatives, projects, and programs made possible by the thoughtful generosity of our donors,” Santoro wrote. “As we strategize our fundraising initiatives for the coming years, we are ready to exceed benchmarks set for 2018-2019 with your support.”
One of the strategies the Foundation plans to implement is to increase its donor base by bringing more alumni affinity groups back to campus, and by hosting more off-campus alumni events. Athletic and academic affinity groups, chapter events, and volunteer opportunities drew 1,092 attendees throughout 2017-2018.
The continued success of East Stroudsburg University is largely made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends. Donors’ support enables ESU to provide students and faculty with experiences that positively affect lives for generations to come.
“No matter how much you give, your support makes an impact,” Santoro said.
