A Project to Preserve East Stroudsburg University History

The East Stroudsburg University Foundation is launching a special Oral History Project to collect and preserve the stories, memories, and experiences of East Stroudsburg University (ESU) alumni. Through this project, ESU alumni will have the opportunity to share their stories in their own words, helping document the history of the university and the impact it has had on generations of Warriors.

The stories collected through this project will be preserved in a digital archive, and many will also be featured in a commemorative publication celebrating the voices and experiences of our alumni.

The Project

Every Warrior has a story to tell.

Whether you found lifelong friendships, discovered your career path, met a mentor who changed your life, or experienced a memorable moment on campus, your story is part of East Stroudsburg University's history.

Through our partnership with PCI (Publishing Concepts), alumni will have the opportunity to share their memories and update their contact information so we can stay connected.

Why Are We Partnering with PCI?

With more than 45,000 living alumni around the world, collecting and preserving these stories would be difficult for our team to accomplish alone.

PCI specializes in oral history projects and provides trained staff who will interview alumni, collect stories, and help compile them into a commemorative publication and digital archive. PCI is acting on behalf of the East Stroudsburg University Foundation as part of this project.

Please note that alumni contact information has been provided to PCI solely for purposes related to this project. Your information has not been sold and will not be used for unrelated marketing purposes.

Do I Need to Purchase a Book to Participate?

No. However, we encourage all alumni to participate and share their stories, regardless of whether they choose to purchase a commemorative book.

The project is funded through purchases made by alumni who choose to order the commemorative publication and related items offered through PCI. While these purchases help support the project, they are entirely optional and are not required to participate, share a story, or update your information.

We are grateful for every alumni who participates and for those who choose to support the project through a purchase.

What Happens Next?

Alumni may receive emails, postcards, or phone calls from PCI with information about participating in the project.

When contacted, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Share your ESU story
  • Update your contact information
  • Submit photos for possible inclusion
  • Learn about the commemorative publication and other optional offerings

We hope you will take a few moments to participate and help preserve the history of East Stroudsburg University for future generations.
