ESU Foundation celebrates dedication of Warrior Esports Room

On February 11, 2025, the East Stroudsburg University Foundation celebrated the official dedication of the Warrior Esports Room with a ceremony held in the space within the Mattioli Recreation Center. The event recognized the generous contributions of Alfredo E. ’03 and Jennifer Garcia, as well as a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which made the project possible.
The Warrior Esports Room, designed to bridge the gap between academics and recreation, provides students with an innovative space for hands-on learning in technology-driven fields. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to view the facility, which includes state-of-the-art gaming computers and a specialized Shout Casting Room for esports commentators. The space is fully integrated with the McGarry Communications Center, allowing students to gain valuable experience in esports content creation for global audiences.
The dedication featured donor recognition and plaque unveilings, honoring those whose support helped bring the project to life. ESU students demonstrated the room’s capabilities, offering live showcases and insights into how the space enhances both academic and extracurricular opportunities.
A light reception followed, giving attendees a chance to mingle and further explore the Warrior Esports Room. The facility serves as both a competitive gaming hub and a place where students can forge lasting connections while honing skills that will benefit them in their future careers.
