Warrior Women Who Give Supports ‘It’s On Us’ With NightCap Safety Initiative

Warrior Women Who Give

Warrior Women Who Give (WWWG), a philanthropic network of East Stroudsburg University (ESU) alumni, faculty, and community members, is supporting the national It’s On Us campaign at ESU through a new campus safety initiative featuring customized NightCap drink covers.

NightCap is a discreet, wearable scrunchie with a hidden drink cover designed to help prevent drink spiking. When needed, the cover can be removed and placed over a beverage, offering protection when drinks are left unattended.

In partnership with It’s On Us and the ESU Office of Health and Wellness, WWWG is helping to fund these reusable black scrunchies, which will feature the WWWG logo on the package and “ESU” printed underneath. The initiative aims to raise awareness and enhance student safety on campus.

NightCap, known for its high-quality protective drink covers, is supplying custom scrunchies for this effort. The ESU Office of Health and Wellness is also playing a vital role by continuing its mission to educate students about sexual health, safer alcohol use, and strategies for preventing sexual assault both on and off campus. “This is a tangible way to promote safety and awareness,” said Jennifer Barteck ‘92, Chair of Warrior Women Who Give. “We’re proud to support ESU’s It’s On Us initiative as they take proactive steps to protect students and educate the community.”

As a philanthropic initiative of the ESU Foundation, Warrior Women Who Give (WWWG) is committed to collective giving, mentorship, and community engagement. This year, members have identified the initiative as one of three key areas of student impact. In partnership with the ESU Foundation, WWWG previously established an annual scholarship to support students and advance educational opportunities.

Looking at this the fall, WWWG helped bring guest speaker Christie Pearce Rampone to campus through a collaboration with the Departments of Exercise Science and Athletics. A three-time Olympic gold medalist, two-time World Cup champion, and former captain of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, Pearce Rampone was one of the most decorated athletes in U.S. soccer history. This effort, along with their ongoing projects, reflected WWWG’s broader mission: to unite, collaborate, and give generously for the betterment of ESU and its students.

It’s On Us is a movement we believe in,” said Dr. Deborah Gebhardt ’69, Treasurer. “These scrunchies not only spread awareness—they empower students to take safety into their own hands.”
