About Neti Vora, MD FACP

Dr. Neti Vora joined the Lehigh Valley Health Network in 2015. She was recently appointed the Chief of Division in 2022. Vora completed her medical education at KJ Somaiya Medical School in Mumbai, India, in 2003. She became certified to practice medicine in Pennsylvania and completed her U.S. medical licensing exams in 2006. She completed her internal medicine residency in 2009 at Eastern Virginia Medical School and her geriatric fellowship in 2010 from Glennan Center of Geriatrics and Gerontology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Prior to joining Lehigh Valley Health Network, she was a hospitalist at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading from 2010-2015

Vora is passionate about care for elderly and continues to work to improve overall health care and outcomes for the elderly. She works with patients living with dementia and their caregivers/families through Fleming Memory Center. One of her focus areas of work includes improving acute care for elderly, particularly those suffering from dementia. She has been the physician lead for education for a grant through administration of community living (ACL). She also served as sub investigator for the MIND study through National Institute of Health. She also serves as assistant professor USF Medical School and works with medical students on research, education, mentoring and fostering their interest for the field of geriatrics. She has been awarded “Top Teacher” in department of internal medicine at LVHN for educating internal medicine residents the last three consecutive years.

 

About the Lecture Series

The Troiani-Sweeney Lecture Series honors Yvonne Troiani-Sweeney, a 1978 nursing graduate of ESU who was diagnosed with a form of early onset dementia called posterior cortical atrophy. Linda Troiani Niedbala ’82 and The Niedbala Family Foundation established this lecture series to be a lasting tribute to Yvonne and her devotion to others.

From 1978 to 2011, Yvonne’s career included positions such as director of nursing at Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore, Md., the director of nursing at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa., and head nurse at the Burn Center at what is now Lehigh Valley Health Network.
