Dear Friends,

We want to express our deep appreciation for the selfless generosity our supporters have demonstrated over the past year of fundraising. In the fiscal year 2023-2024, thousands of alumni and friends, along with our corporate and foundation partners, have provided significant support to the East Stroudsburg University Foundation. Loyal donors contributed gifts and pledges totaling $5,623,720 between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024, reflecting their strong loyalty and commitment to ESU and its exceptional students.

Fundraising operates in a competitive environment, and we do not take your philanthropic support for granted. Economic uncertainty, tighter philanthropic budgets, and inflation have a profound impact on the support we receive. Fortunately, many of you recognize that giving back to ESU and its students is an investment in their futures and in our world. The following pages of your Alumni Herald magazine include the ESU Foundation’s 2023–2024 Annual Report and Honor Roll of Donors. Within these pages, you will discover the many thousands of alumni, friends, businesses, and organizations that support ESU through the Foundation. You will also learn how we strive to maximize the financial resources entrusted to us, honor those who support us, and provide ESU’s students with opportunities that enhance their academic and university experiences.

Among the many highlights of the year, we are proud to announce the following milestones for the fiscal year 2023–2024:

  • Secured $5,623,720 in new pledges and gifts from more than 2,500 donors.
  • Realized eight estate gifts totaling $315,514.
  • Increased membership in the prestigious President’s Circle to over 250 members.
  • Gained 11 new members in The 1893 Society, reflecting their desire to leave a lasting legacy at ESU.
  • Awarded 778 annual and endowed scholarship awards to students, totaling $1,218,494.
  • Established 23 new scholarship funds to assist Warriors in their pursuit of an education.
  • Created a Lifetime Giving Society to recognize individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations whose cumulative gifts have reached $100,000 and above.
  • Launched new initiatives to thank our donors, including a private Faculty and Staff Donor Reception and a Student Gratitude Program aimed at promoting awareness.

While this is just a snapshot of a busy and successful year, we hope you enjoy the Alumni Herald’s cover story, “We Are Grateful,” which provides a glimpse into the academic journeys of six students made possible by the scholarship support received through the ESU Foundation. Their stories remind us that behind every dollar of scholarship support, there is a grateful Warrior who will forever remember your generosity. They are inspiring and serve as a reminder of why we remain dedicated to our mission.

Looking ahead, we have initiatives to grow, funds to raise, and more students to impact. Along the  way, you can be assured that your contributions to the ESU Foundation will always be a wise investment in transforming lives.
