ESU Foundation celebrates 40th Anniversary launching new five-year Strategic Plan

The East Stroudsburg University Foundation has launched a new five-year strategic plan that sets a clear course for growth in fundraising, alumni engagement and organizational performance through fiscal year 2030.
The plan’s launch comes during a milestone year for the organization — 2026 marks the ESU Foundation’s 40th year of service to East Stroudsburg University. Since its founding in 1986, the ESU Foundation has raised more than 90 million to support scholarships, capital improvements, academic programs and student success initiatives. As the foundation celebrates four decades of impact, this new plan underscores its continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of students, alumni and the greater ESU community.
“This strategic plan shows our commitment to advancing East Stroudsburg University and its students,” said Rich Santoro, executive director of the ESU Foundation. “By focusing on measurable outcomes and building stronger partnerships, we’re laying the groundwork for long-term impact that will benefit generations of Warriors to come.”
The plan outlines several core strategic priorities, including growing philanthropic support, expanding its alumni engagement networks, and strengthening campus and community partnerships. The initiative was led by the ESU Foundation’s Directorship and Governance Committee, with input from Foundation staff and members of the Board of Directors. Implementation began in July to align with the start of the 2025-26 academic year, and progress will be tracked through defined key performance indicators.
The development of the Strategic Plan also included adopting the Foundation’s new Mission and Vision Statements, as well as the organization’s core values:
